There are nine congressional districts (CDs) in Washington state. Within the party structure, there are chairs elected to represent each of these nine districts. However, the CDs do not have boards, nor do they elect state committee representatives or have other formal structures. The main function of the CDs is to organize the CD caucuses during presidential election years in order to elect delegates to the national convention. Volunteers from the various county and LD organizations within the CD step forward to help the CD chair with this task.
The boundaries of the CDs change every ten years based on population as representation proportional. For more information, check out Congressional Apportionment at the US Census Bureau website.
Congressional Representation
Grays Harbor County falls, in its entirety, into the 6th Congressional District represented by Congressman Norm Dicks.
If you do not live in the 6th CD, you can find your representative here in addition to other useful information about the House of Representatives. |
