Grays Harbor County Convention
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CONVENTION?
* We will discuss the numerous resolutions
turned in during the precinct caucuses. Those passed will become part
of our county platform. Passed resolutions will be sent to the state
party for consideration at the state convention and may become part
of the state platform. Resolutions passed at that level will go on to
the national convention for consideration in the national platform.
* If you did not submit a resolution at the precinct caucus but wish
you did, it's not too late. Please go to our sample resolution
and read the directions for how to submit.
What is a Resolution? How are they used? How do I write one?
If you have any questions, please call Jim Eddy at 580-1226.
* We will elect delegates to go to the congressional district
caucus. We will be selecting 20 delegates (and 9 alternates) to represent
Grays Harbor County at that level. Delegates for the national convention
in Denver will be selected at this event. The congressional district
caucus for CD-6 (Norm Dick's district) will be held in Shelton on May
17th.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
* Everybody who was elected as a delegate or alternate in their percinct caucus.
* Everybody else. While you will not have a vote on resolutions, you will be able to make comments on them
and to offer suggestions for amending them. Also, if you were not elected as a delegate/alternate at the
precinct level, you can still run for a delegate position to the congresstional district caucus.
* Everybody who is interested in seeing grassroots democracy in action.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO HELP ELECT DEMOCRATS, INCLUDING A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT, TO OFFICE?
We encourage you to attend our local party meetings to get involved in activities that will help elect our
next president, governor, and other Democrats to office. You can help a little or a lot, whatever time you
have to spare. And it's a lot of fun! Your attendance at these meetings will also give you the opportunity
to help set the direction of our local party.
We look forward to seeing you at the Polish Hall, 823 W. 1st St., Aberdeen, on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.
